The Temple University Undergraduate Scholarships launched in 2016, reflect Temple’s commitment to fostering global inclusivity in higher education.
Annually, Temple selects two first-year international students to receive a renewable scholarship up to $20,000, providing them with the financial support needed to pursue their academic goals.

Temple University Undergraduate Scholarship Requirements
To be considered for the Temple University Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a first-year international applicant without U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Attend or have graduated from a secondary school outside the U.S.
- Demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning and exchange.
- You must be a first-year or transfer international student.
- You must be a Temple applicant (already admitted, applied or soon to apply).
- You must submit this scholarship by the deadline.

Temple University Undergraduate Scholarships Benefits and Timeline
Awardees of the Temple University Undergraduate Scholarship (#Youarewelcomehere) receive a renewable scholarship of $20,000 per year for over 4 years, providing them with the financial support needed to pursue their academic goals.
Temple introduced the #WhyUS campaign and scholarships which range from $2,000 to $10,000 for up to four consecutive years (four years for first-year students and two years for transfer students).
How To Apply for Temple University Undergraduate Scholarships 2025
Applying for the #YouAreWelcomeHere or #WhyUS scholarship at Temple University involves three straightforward steps:
- Apply for admission using the Common Application.
- Submit the #YouAreWelcomeHere application along with the required essay or video to [email protected]. Large video files can be shared via a link.
- Submit the #WhyUS application with your response to the creative prompt.
- If awarded a scholarship, claim it by submitting an enrollment deposit by May 1.
