Iowa State University Masters Scholarship Details
The Iowa State University Masters Scholarship is an assistantship at Iowa State University under the supervision of Dr. Adam Janke.
Dr Adam Jake is seeking applications for a M.S. graduate assistantship to work on a collaborative research project evaluating bird and bird habitat responses to cattle grazing in Conservation Reserve Program Grasslands in Iowa.
The student will work as part of a collaborative project with other students and faculty examining a wide range of environmental outcomes related to grazing including birds, plants, soil health, greenhouse gases, water quality, and cattle production.
The project is funded by the Farm Services Agency and will be conducted on private farms in Iowa starting in summer 2025.

Iowa State University Masters Scholarship Requirements
To be eligible for the postgraduate Iowa State University Masters Scholarship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in wildlife ecology or a closely related field.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and excellent communication skills.
- Applicants with experience and skills in bird survey methodologies, working with agricultural producers or on private lands, plant identification skills, and quantitative analysis skills will be most competitive.
- Applicants should have an undergraduate and graduate GPA ≥3.0 and a valid driver’s license (or ability to get one).
- Applicants from underrepresented or historically excluded groups are encouraged to apply.
