Understanding the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship
This fellowship transcends a traditional curriculum; it’s a profound odyssey of professional and personal growth.

Benefits of the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship
A Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship includes a set training budget to cover:
- Up to two return economy flights from your home country to the UK to undertake fellowship activities
- Accommodation while in the UK
- Living expenses while in the UK
- A period of secondment for approximately 4-6 weeks at a cultural institution in the UK
- Individually tailored fellowship learning plan which may include participation in courses conferences and other processional development activities in the UK
- Course and conference fees within the UK
- Training and development costs within the UK
- Travel in the UK

Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship Requirements
To be eligible for the Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- Intend to return to the country they were selected from at the end of the period of study
- Hold a degree that is equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree or have equivalent professional training and/or experience
- Have completed at least five years’ work, or equivalent experience, by the end 2023
- Meet the minimum requirements in accordance with the main fellowships scheme
- Have a good working knowledge of English to be assessed in your application form and if you are invited to interview
- Not hold British or dual British citizenship
- Not be an employee, a former employee, or relative* of an employee of His Majesty’s Government, or have been within the last two years from the opening of Chevening applicationsÂ
Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship Program Structure
The Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship is flexible yet poses a rigorous learning environment from September 2024 to May 2025.
This fellowship is meticulously designed to assist cultural leaders in becoming the finest versions of themselves.
The focus is on in-depth instruction tailored to individual needs, goals, and situations. Join a cohort of approximately 20 fellows, a blend of domestic and international talent, and engage in a curriculum comprising:
- Two residential leadership courses
- Skills-based workshops
- An Online Climate Assembly
- A 360° leadership profile assessment
- Secondment within a UK-based cultural organization
- Tailored learning opportunities through conferences, courses, and study visits
- Dedicated support from a mentor or coach
- Development of a written thought leadership provocation paper
