The 2026 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize launches its seventh annual competition in search for Africa’s most promising young co-founders and founders across Africa who have launched businesses across Africa’s agrifood value chain “from seed to fork”.

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is an integral part of the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF), the world’s premier forum for African agriculture and food systems, bringing together stakeholders to take practical action and share lessons that will empower Africa’s young leaders for food systems transformation.

GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2026 Benefits

  • A total of US$160,000 will be awarded to young African entrepreneurs who have launched scalable, impact-driven businesses in the agrifood sector.
  • The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition also presents an incredible opportunity to gain exposure, mentorship, and financial support to scale your venture.
  • Grand Prizes: Two grand prizes of $50,000 each will be awarded to the most promising and impactful female and male agripreneur-led businesses.
  • Impact Awards: An additional $60,000 in Impact Awards, $15,000 to each business excelling in key areas including Technology & Innovation, Nutrition & Food Security, Job Creation, Climate Resilience and Gender Equity.

Eligible Sectors for GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition

The agrifood sector may be defined as businesses engaged in:

  • Agrifood research & development
  • Primary food production (farming)
  • Crop nutrition
  • Irrigation
  • Mechanisation, automation or robotics, including drones
  • Crop protection
  • Hydroponics or urban farming
  • Transport, distribution, storage or logistics
  • Food processing
  • Packaging or marketing
  • Food retail or service
  • Waste management or recycling
  • Digital or technology solutions/services to the agrifood sector
  • Innovative finance solutions/services to the agrifood sector
  • Renewable energy or environmental solutions/services to the agrifood sector

GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition 2026 Requirements

To be eligible for the  GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  • Aged 18–35 on the date of submission to the competition
  • Hold nationality (with an official ID) from an African Union member state
  • Your venture is headquartered in an African Union member state.
  • Your venture is legally registered in an AU member state (or will be registered by 28 June 2026)

  • You are the founder or co-founder and play an active role in its operations and leadership
  • No criminal record related to corruption, tax evasion, financial impropriety, or any felony.
  • Enterprises contributing to Technology & Innovation, Nutrition & Food Security, Job Creation, Climate Resilience and Gender Equity
  • Any business in agrifood systems including but not limited to production, aggregation & logistics, agro-processing, digital innovations etc
