About Majekodunmi Bursary Award
The Majekodunmi Descendants of North America proudly introduces the Majekodunmi Bursary Award.
The scholarship program is designed to provide financial support to students of Ikereku, Abeokuta, Nigeria, who are pursuing their education at accredited Nigerian universities or polytechnics.
Project Objectives:
The primary objective of this program is to extend one-time financial assistance to deserving Ikereku students, facilitating their pursuit of higher education at recognized Nigerian universities or polytechnics.
Majekodunmi Bursary Award Benefits
- The allocated funds aim to partially cover tuition fees and other essential study-related expenses, including textbooks and living allowances. The minimum amount granted is #100,000.00.
- The bursary awards can be applied towards tuition, fees, or other directly related costs for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies.

For the 2024/25 academic session, the Majekodunmi Bursary Award will accept applications from accredited programmes in Nigerian universities and polytechnics
Participating Universities
All students from public universities and polytechnics are eligible to apply provided they are of the above -mentioned origin.
Majekodunmi Bursary Award Requirements
To be eligible for the undergraduate and postgraduate Majekodunmi Bursary Award, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:
- students enrolled at accredited Nigerian universities and polytechnics with roots in Egba Oke-Ona, Abeokuta communities of Ago-Oko, Iberekodo, Idomopa, Ikereku, Ikija, Ilawo, Ijaye Kukudi, Ilugun and Imala
- must be ready to provide a recommendation letter from a notable person in these communities (mosque or church)
- must demonstrate financial need
Required Documents
While applying for the 2024 Majekodunmi Bursary Award, you will be required to submit the following documents;
- A statement of financial need
- proof of indigene of the communities listed above
- recommendation letter from mosque or church in the community
Application Procedure
- Interested candidates are encouraged to apply for consideration.
- Prospective students meeting the criteria should submit a concise summary outlining their financial requirements, career aspirations, and providing verifiable evidence of their roots in Ago-Oko, Iberekodo, Idomopa, Ikereku, Ikija, Ilawo, Ijaye Kukudi, Ilugun, and Imala.
