The ASMAF Scholarship Award is a Need-based financial aid for which the student and family’s financial situation is a primary factor in determining recipients.

Besides the student and family’s financial situation the awardees must be promising students with superior academic ability. 

The goal of ASMAF is to promote, facilitate and contribute to the development of qualitative female Nigerian professionals and leaders.

The combination of approaches and the structured support of this programme differentiate it from typical scholarship awards in Nigeria. In providing these awards, ASMAF will achieve the following objectives:

• Ensure a better future for successive generations of Nigerians.

• Reduce financial barriers for young women with high academic and leadership promise who have significant financial need and enable them complete tertiary education;

• Increase the representation of females in the professions, where they are currently severely underrepresented;

• Build a bridge for greater female participation in our economy; Develop a diversified cadre of future leaders for Nigeria.

2026 ASMAF Scholarship Benefits

Selected awardees receive a comprehensive financial package that removes financial barriers:

• Financial assistance for a professional course of study at a public Nigerian University covering tuition, board and upkeep for a period of up to 6 years, depending on the course and year of award, and subject to maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
• Life skills and leadership development programmes including mentoring, with distinctive personal, academic and professional growth opportunities.
• Access to resources that provide useful information and tools that encourage academic excellence and lifelong learning.
• The Scholarship will normally be awarded for the period of a full academic year from the time of the award till conclusion of the student’s course unless otherwise stated.
• The scholarship award will be renewed annually for the duration of the course of study if the Awardee maintains and sustains an appropriate academic record, and participates fully in all the programmes offered under the award.

Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF) Scholarship Requirements

To be considered for the 2027 Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation (ASMAF), applicants must satisfy the following criteria:

• Be female, INDIGENT and Nigerian citizen embarking on tertiary level qualifications for the first time.
• Have gained admission to or be enrolled in a full-time accredited undergraduate programme in Medicine, Law,Actuary, Engineering, Accountancy, Architecture or any professional course in any public university in Nigeria.
• Meet the financial need and academic requirements specified in these guidelines.
• Demonstrate commitment to academic and professional excellence and possess strong leadership potential.

Eligible Programmes for Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation Scholarship 2026

The 2027 Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation Scholarship is open to candidates pursuing the following programmes;

• Medicine,
• Law,Actuary,
• Engineering,
• Accountancy,
• Architecture or any professional course in any public university in Nigeria.

Required Documents for 2026 ASMAF Scholarship

To complete your application, prepare the following documents in advance:

• Application Form
• Academic Transcripts/Admission Letter
• Referee Letter
• Evidence of credit passes in the required subjects from examinations like the
  • General Certificate of Education (GCE),
  • National Examination Council (NECO),
  • West African School Certificate (WASC), or
  • any other approved university qualifying examination.
• Evidence of success in any required post-JAMB examination or interview or other criteria set by the admitting university.
• Evidence of current registration at the university

Selection Criteria for Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Scholarship 2026

• All eligibility criteria will be verified.
• Student and family’s financial situation is a primary factor in determining recipients. Besides the student and family’s financial situation the awardees must be promising students with superior academic ability.
• Recommenders may be contacted.
• A provisional ranking of all applicants will be prepared based on the course of study, state of origin and geographical zone of the admitting university.
• The final list of successful applicants will be determined by the sum of funds available.
• ASMAF’s selection decisions are final and binding. ASMAF will not entertain any appeal against its decisions.
• Where an offer of a scholarship is made, the recipient must respond to the offer within the timeframes indicated on the letter of offer.
