Akwa Ibom State Bursary Program Details

The Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the call for applications for her 2026 annual scholarship bursary program.

The Akwa Ibom State Government bursary payments is for the current academic session (2026/2026).

This provides a gateway where every student from Akwa Ibom State studying in a public (non-private) tertiary institution in Nigeria can apply for the yearly student bursary.

The portal also supports the special government intervention grant for students living with a disability. Unlike the student bursary, the disability intervention grant is open to all students of Akwa Ibom state origin in both public and private tertiary institutions in Nigeria and covers both graduate and postgraduate courses. access to the funds they need to pursue their academic dreams.

Akwa Ibom State Bursary 2026 Benefits

  • ₦50,000 bursary payment directly into their verified bank account.
  • Students with disabilities may qualify for additional support, including:
    • ₦250,000 grant for eligible undergraduate students with disabilities.
    • ₦300,000 grant for eligible postgraduate students with disabilities.

Akwa Ibom State Bursary 2026 Requirements:

To be considered for the Akwa Ibom State Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

  • be registered, full-time indigent but intelligent students in Federal or State Universities;
  • be at least in their 2nd year of study;
  • have a minimum of 3.50 Cumulative Grade Points Average (CGPA) on a 5.00 scale;
  • produce testimonials from your institution;
  • present certificate of origin from their respective Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State;
  • NOT be more than Twenty-five (25) years of age at the time of application;
  • All applicants will be expected to state the financial status / occupation / means of livelihood of their Parents, after fulfilling the academic requirement;
  • All beneficiaries will be expected to submit academic results at the end of every session to determine their continued eligibility for the scholarship based on their CGPA, which will be verified by the Ministry of Education / State Scholarships Board;
